The Stinkers
Listed oldest to youngest.
It has been said that the buck is 50% of the herd. We have incorporated bucks from herds known for their great genetics. Bucks are very interesting critters. While their antics border on disgusting much of the time they also can prove quite amusing. Owning a buck is not for the faint of heart though. In addition to those aforementioned disgusting traits - whoooeeee do they ever stink! As of 2010 we have decided to no longer show our bucks. It's a smelly hassle neither party enjoys, and it's all meaningless unless they have the daughters to back them up. We will still have our boys Linear Appraised. Stud service is ONLY available to animals purchased from Algedi Farm, before they leave the farm for bio-security reasons tripster.ru. We do NOT lease out our boys and we do not sell semen, thanks for asking!

*B CH Algedi Farm Drops of Jupiter DOB 03-04-05 LA2011 EEE 91 E 23" (Permanent score) Dam: GCH Rosasharn's TL Zenith 3*D E90 Sire: Rosasharn's UMT Hamachi *S This is a spectacular buck that we feel so fortunate to have contributing to our little herd. Not only does this guy boast wonderful general appearance, extremely correct feet and legs, a long and level topline, and great width and capacity through out, he also lays claim to a respectable show record, including two Best In Shows against some top quality standard bucks. But even more impressive is his kids; he's consistently passing on his level topline, dairy character and feet and legs to his offspring. Jupiter is consistently putting well attached udders on his daughters with lovely MSL, butter soft texture, extended fore udders, and large teats. He now has three finished champion kids to his credit, including a daughter with her SG designation, an LA score of EEEE 91 and five BDIS, and two daughters with DHIR milk stars. Show Record: ADGA: 2x Best Buck in Show, 5x Sr. Grand Champion, 5x Best of Breed, 3x Reserve Grand, 8x 1 place, 3x 2 place. Updates: Jupiter's kids are certainly rising to meet our expectations, placing near or at the top of their class consistently. His '06 doe out of Tupelo (Splash O' Honey) snatched up her Jr. leg, along with a Jr. Reserve at her first show, and has been placing at the head of her class as a milker. As a third freshener, Splash is now finished! Her littermate sister, SGCH Honey Dew, easily completed her ADGA and AGS championship as a second freshener, picked up four BDIS along the way AND earned herself a Linear Appraisal score of EEEE 91! His '07 Tupelo (Amrita) daughter placed 1x 1st and 3x 2nd as a Jr., and scored VVVV FS87 as a first freshener. Jupiter also has a finished champion son (CH Smokin' Hot Honey) out of Tupelo who, in turn, is producing stunning daughters with gorgeous udders. Another son (Desperado - see below) has produced a finished CH daughter (CH Capella). And a first freshening Jupiter daughter earned her ADGA DHIR milk star in 2009. |

Algedi Farm MB Manuka Honey DOB 3-25-09 LA2010 VVE 88 VG (yearling) 21.5" Unofficial measurement at 2 years 23.5" Dam: SGCH Rosasharn's UMT Tupelo Honey 4*D E91 Sire: Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay ++*S Manuka is my sole retainee (but not survivor) of Tupelo's '09 sextuplets. I was originally going to sell him, but due to the economy, I could not find a buyer. I can't express how pleased I am that he had to stay here! So far, I've seen fourteen kids by him, and twelve of them were uniformly gorgeous. They are consistently long bodied, level over the topline, tight in the shoulders with correct brisket definition, flat, well angled ribbing, wide rumps, and awesome rear end assemblies. With the udder genetics backing this guy up, I am SO excited to see what his daughters look like when they freshen in 2012. Oh, and Manuka himself is a pretty nice looking guy - sharp shoulders, excellent length of body (his color creates the optical illusion that his body is shorter than it really is), great ribbing, a nice rear leg set, nice brisket definition, and a long rump (that, admittedly, could be a bit leveler). He also is a more well balanced buck, rather than a "doe with a beard", like I usually prefer. Show Record: 1 x 3rd out of 8

Algedi Farm SS Captain Kid DOB 4-12-10 LA2011 VEE 88 VG (yearling) 20" Dam: CH Algedi Farm DJ Splash O' Honey E90 Sire: Rosasharn's TL Sitka Spruce *S I really, really, really did NOT need another buck, and had not planned on keeping a Splash son that year. However, when this handsome fellow hit the ground, I could not take my eyes off him. And since when it comes to goats I have the self control of a two year old, I said "Ooh, pretty! It's mine!", and not to mention Splash has such wonderful udder texture a great work ethic, I really could not justify not keeping him! Well, a year later and I have not regretted my decision to add Captain Kid to my herdsire line-up. He has a flat, long bone pattern, great dairy character, very nice feet and legs, a sharp, well placed shoulder assembly, and a open, clean escutcheon. If I could change something about him, I would wish for higher, more defined thurls and wider pins (but don't we all?), and I'd want his front legs to be just a touch straighter when viewed from the front. I should see his first kids in 2012 and I am quite excited! Regretfully sold due to numbers - Thanks Chuck N.! |
Not great pictures of a really stylish young buck. He wanted nothing to do with being set up, so you get to see him "au natural". Pictured at sixteen months old. Dam: CH Algedi Farm Splash O' Honey |
*B Alethia CTO Just Dew It "Nike" DOB 6-02-11 Dam: SGCH/MCH Algedi Farm DJ Honey Dew E91 1*M Sire: *B Rosasharn BB Cento Wowzers, can you say 'a pedigree to die for'?! Just take a glance at this boy's lineage and you can see why I'm so happy to have him here. He is bred to the hilt for structural correctness (four out of six of the animals in his two generation pedigree are LA 91), copious milk production, consistency in offspring, and longevity - everything I strive to produce in an animal. Nike himself is pretty darn easy on the eyes and very much resembles his gorgeous dam. He is long bodied, level from hips to pins, very angular, yet is well balanced with width and is quite square on all "four corners", along with having enough dairy character to make some does envious. Unfortunately he did not inherit her ultra straight front legs and does toe out. I am chomping at the bit to see what Nike contributes to my herd! A HUGE thank you to Dana and Siena for intrusting me with this promising fellow!
